Posted 04/12/2020 An absolutely exceptional example of this original southern California beautifully kept and completely accident free very rare 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Fastback Coupe with its original matching 327cid 300HP V8 engine and finished in its original 'Saddle Tan' (Code 932) factory color paint with its original correct 'Saddle' vinyl (trim code 490L) interior and with standard options including bucket seats, cockpit cluster console, simulated walnut steering wheel, full carpeting, complete instrumentation and clock and boasting added factory options including: 327/300HP V8 Engine ($53) Powerglide Automatic Transmission ($199) Power Brakes ($43) Power Steering ($75) Power Windows ($59) PB AM/FM Radio ($176) Tinted Glass ($16) Back Up Lamps ($10) 670x15 4 Ply WSW ($31) Odometer reads 42,446 miles. Car was in storage for many years and reportedly by previous owners has original miles. Matching numbers 327/300 hp Engine. Casting number 3782870. Powerglide automatic transmission. Dated CA 5/12/64, 3.36:1 rear end. Correct upper and lower ignition shielding and dual snorkel air cleaner. Mostly correct under the hood. Fully detailed engine compartment. Runs and drives great. One repaint in two stage Base/Clear coat paint, which is in great condition with only some very minor chip touch ups and imperfections. Very nice body with bonding strips intact. The car was purchased new at 'Harry Mann Chevrolet' of Los Angeles, CA on 11/27/1964 and has recently come out of long term storage from its long time southern California owners along with some documented history and pictures including original California registrations and will be sold with its original owner's manuals. It is a very striking and seemingly completely accident and obviously rust-free car and looks extremely impressive in its professionally repainted original 'Saddle Tan' (#932 Color Code, 1 of only 1,765 in this color) factory color paint with its original matching 'Saddle' (#490L Trim Code) reupholstered leather interior in exceptional condition throughout. The car is all original and numbers matching including its original matching #'s 327/300HP V8 'SD' suffix code engine (correct code for every 327/300HP, AT, car matched to its correct casting # 3782870) and its original Powerglide automatic transmission. This is one very rare and un-abused and unrestored examples of one of the best styling efforts of the decade, a genuine grand touring car in every sense of the word, this shortest lived Corvette design (1963-67) is probably the most sought after apart from the 1953-1957 models and is increasing in value and desirability each year! This particular original California car has just come out of long time ownership and drives very well and is an all original matching #'s example with desirable factory options including power brakes, power steering, power windows and the rarely ordered Powerglide Transmission which is highly sought after by some and is sure to prove a most worthy investment or simply a great daily driver for any Corvette enthusiast or classic American car enthusiast!
